The Secret Places of God
62Bluer Than Blue (Start Pavarotti Here)
It was one of those
Surprise days
You know, the kind that
Happens after a clouded,
Overcast, gray season of rain
You thought it would be that way for a while
And then this day happens…
Blue skies
Bluer than blue skies because of the
Contrast of majestic white sculpted cloud
With enough shadows in their valleys to render
Them stark against the primary blue
The air, clean & charged and full of the freshest of fresh smells
The kind that needs the best music
The Puccini or Romanza
Something that is as lofty as the skies are beautiful
The kind of day you want to plunge into with all your senses
The kind you change into comfortable, expendable clothes
Because you know this day will definitely rub off on you
And you wouldn’t have it any other way….
You could garden on a day like this
You could probe the secret places of God
You could call the best friend, the closest relative
You could make something on a day like this
You could write
You could embrace away the failures of other days and
Spring clean it new, chock full of hope
You don’t just smile on a day like this
It starts deep inside and spreads like
An avalanche, carrying an irrepressible joyous glow
That is more than the light in your eyes and the up turn of your lips
You meet this day on its own terms, nothing held back, accepting, full
Brim full and contagious with a life we rarely let out
But a day like this…..
Oh watch out world, I could squeeze you too hard on a day like this

When Love Loves You Back
those days I didn't think all feeling and carousels and rainbows I think a lot now that love is broken in like new jeans or shoes filling the background the lights of our stage comfortable blues, but...
Rapunzel's Gold, Jack's Seeds and The Prince's Flower
It was the half life between waiting and goodbye I met you there You seemed immune to it But inside, I knew you were there too I gave you my name and you gave me yours I told you...
You touched my cheek and folded into me I looked into eyes that smiled into my soul Your arms encircled me, drawing me close My lips touched yours and the taste of you flowed into me...

Very nice.
This hub is such a treat! Winsome, thanks for the joyous reminder of love in, well, everything! :)
By the way, that photo is absolutely stunning!
We're having just such a day here in Atlanta! Your poem is most fitting!
Your poem, the blue sky photo, and the Pavarotti aria made my day.
Thank you, Winsome.
See, now that's what I call real poetry. Wish I could write like this. Very beautiful.
How beautiful winsome, I could picture it as I read, I love days like those, when you capture a certain feeling in the air. :)
I wasn't having one of those days, but now I am....thanks for taking me to the high mountain peaks- I pretended The applause was a huge water fall cascading down in front of me :-)
i have held the hand of this day many times. beautiful....just beautiful
I had one of those day on Easter Sunday. The preceeding days had been filled with clouds. But on Easter the Blue Skies overtook the clouds and the SUN burst forth. I was surrounded by family. A day filled with love and laughter. My 17 year old granddaughter curled in my lap holding my hands in hers as she chattered away .. what a rare treat!
A walk later that day under a beautiful blue sky as strong breezes rushed through our hair and delighted our senses. A perfect day I will remember forever! Beautiful Poetry Winsome!
Yep, God winked and I smiled real BIG in response. ;)
'You could embrace away the failures of other days...' my favorite of all your beautiful lines, that felt good, Thanks!
"Oh watch out world, I could squeeze you too hard on a day like this." I really loved that line!
Thanks for such a joyous, filled up poem. I love it.
Love and peace
Tony
This got me longing for a surprise day just as you described it in this poem. :D
Great thoughts with great pics and great music! Thanks Winsome!
Absolutely gorgeous hub. Your imagery is wonderful and the happiness is contagious :o) Fab
What a grand jesture of wonderful. I love days like these as seldom as they are it makes life worth living. Time worth spending watching for the sun to come out from behind the clouds.Beautiful...
I feel like I have opened another new gift by reading this beautiful hub. ahh, you touch each sense with your writing.. 'Nessun Dorma' has to be one of the most beautiful arias ever written. Sometimes if I play this in my car, I start choking up, it's so intimate.
Your poetic sensibilities are refreshing, pure pleasure.
I love "bluer than blue" days because they're just as you described...uplifting and invigorating. Instructing readers to cue a video before reading...pure genius! You may have started a trend here on HP (and other places). Good job! Great hub!
awesome
I took your advice and came here in search of hope. You do not disappoint Winsome. It's funny that you suggested I play Pavarotti as I read. I had already decided on Nessun Dorma before finding you had already provided it on your page. Your words swell my heart to bursting. Thank you so much for reminding me of days like the ones you describe so perfectly. I truly needed it. Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend. JR
Hi Winsome, A really good poem. You caught the feeling of those very positive days where you feel you can accomplish anything.
Michael.
Oh, this is lovely. I've had days such as the one you describe, and have also found gray rainy days to hold as much joy and magic. Embracing life and all it has to offer. I have a plaque on my bedroom wall that says God gave us memories so we can gather flowers in the winter. It is so true :)
My mom loved opera and would listen to it often. I could never understand it, but as I've matured, I can see that it is powerful stuff. I have a music channel that is called soundscapes, and although it is not opera, I find it to be a great way to calm myself. Sometimes one needs music such as this, and at other times, just having someone to talk to brings great joy to the day.

I'm still waiting for this day to arrive :D I really enjoyed this. We do however need to have those cloudy, rainy days so as to appreciate days such as this one! Awesome and thank you.
